2. The Back End of the Health Care Lineup
Reducing the Lineup at the Other End

LIA tackles the back of the health care lineup issue. In order to do this, several things must be addressed at the same time. Poverty is not the only factor. Wealthy people get sick. The entire argument over a two tiered health care system, where the wealthy jump the lineup, attests to the fact that wealthy people also get sick in large numbers. So, we have the poor, the wealthy and the middlings all having health care problems in such a large proportion that long lineups have resulted.
One approach is to throw more money at the front end of the lineup. Pay for more medical doctors. (A terribly expensive proposition.) Or, pay for more technology. (Also a terribly expensive proposition.) Another alternative is to throw money at the back end of the lineup. Lessen the lineup by preventing people from coming to the lineup in the first place. This is the LIA approach.
Both approaches are needed, but only the front end approach is aggressively dealt with today in our communities. People are largely left on their own to deal with prevention issues, particularly in the field of alternative medicine. We need an aggressive back end lineup approach. That's LIA.
The issues at the back end of the lineup involve lifestyles. Lifestyles involve mindsets and poverty. Addressing these complex issues will involve a team approach. The LIA project should be part of that team.
Shorten the health care lineup, not by increasing medical specialists or pumping more money into health care technology, but by addressing the preventive issues in a more aggressive way. The LIA Project does this.

I have clinical skills. I can focus intently on a patient in front of me who has a plethora of lifestyle issues with the end manifestation of the pain that brings them into my clinic. I can focus on this patient's needs and prioritize what needs to be done for fast pain relief. The trick is that in order to obtain FAST relief, I need the patient's 'attention' and the patient's help. The patient needs to be actively involved. This is not a new concept. It has been around for a while now, particularly in recovery from work related injuries, like lower back injuries. The creation of Yellow Flags in the diagnostic setting is an attempt to directly address the issues of patient mind-set.
From the alternative medicine perspective, in the clinical situation, when a patient is in agonizing, crisis pain, they cannot comprehend the multitude of issues that involve their pain condition. They just want relief. A person that is crashing can only think of relief and not much else. Asking them to help themselves, in a complex lifestyle manner, is fraught with failure. A more structured slower approach is necessary in order to obtain a faster healing. One needs to get through to the patient that they are part of the problem, but they need to focus on only one thing at a time. Picking that one thing for them is a trick in the clinic. Different clinicians pick different things.
Delivering long lasting relief to people in pain using a multi professional approach, will have the positive effect of shortening health care lineups. If we can find a way of reducing the professional component to health care, then we can offer the community a much more cost effective solution. LIA offers that solution.

The Secret
There is always a secret, isn't there? Having been practising for over 33 years in the alternative health care field, I have discovered a secret that works quite well. This secret bears on the effectiveness of certain health care approaches. I would like to discuss this secret with those people who have an interest in becoming part of the LIA team solution, either as financial supporters, financial investors, involved partners, or hands off partners.
